This will not be timed!
More than a trail ride, but less than a pace! The course will be designed and marked to ride like a hunter pace, but it won't be timed. This is a great opportunity to school young horses and riders over a pace-like course and atmosphere without the pressure of competing. Perfect ride for early season fitness and conditioning.

Trail ride on a marked hunter pace course 7- 8 miles through open rolling farmland and beautiful wooded trails. ~ 40 fences, none over 3’3”, and all with Go-Arounds for those not wishing to jump. There will be an optional self-serve rest point.
Riders may leave any time from 8:30am until 11:00am. Hardhats with attached harness, signed release forms and negative Coggins within 12 months are required with entry.

Lunch offered only for riders pre-paid by May 11th.
Fun for Everyone !!! Many small beginner fences along with more challenging jumps. Lovely ride over beautiful countryside for the flat rider.

Locust Hill Farm will hold its annual Spring Hunter Pace on Saturday. For the past 5 years we opened the previous day's hunter pace course to human runners on Sunday.
This year we will again run this race to support “Every Mother Counts” .
100% of proceeds go to Every Mother Counts! Our time is completely voluntary.

Worldwide new mothers needlessly die from the lack of the most basic health care. Every Mother Counts helps provide community health services, emergency care, prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric care, birth services and breastfeeding support, in addition to education and environmental programs. Please visit

The trails are horse back riding trails so expect rough patches and a couple deep mud spots. (You can pick your way around, but not run straight through it if you want to stay dry.) The course will be VERY WELL MARKED as it is intended for mounted riders.

cross-country trail runJumping optional!

Entry fee is optional. Please consider a $15-$20 donation.
